Conference Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Please see below for answers to Frequently Asked Questions about the 2023 Annual Training Conference.

  • When does registration open for the conference?

    Monday, June 12, 2023 - Friday, August 18, 2023.

    Coordinators/directors will receive an email from CACJ's Kimberly Howard on Monday, June 12th at 11:00am.  

    After August 18, 2023, CACJ is unable to accept new registrations. However, attendance substitutions can occur within the same organization. 

    The conference housing block will also open June 12.  If the conference registration email was not received please email Kimberly Howard. 

  • How can I register to attend the conference?

    Accountability court coordinators are the primary contact for team member registration. Please contact your program coordinator to confirm your eligibility to attend the conference.  CACJ will use online communication platforms to provide all conference related information concerning conference events, activities, award nominations and registration. There are no paper registration or nominations forms. CACJ will not accept on-site registrations, all attendees must register for the conference by the deadline of August 18, 2023.

  • Will there be any virtual components of the conference?

    No. The 2023 conference is an in-person only event. 

  • Will meeting room capacities be altered for safety?

    Yes.

    CACJ will provide physically-distant seating to allow individuals who wish to physically distance while in sessions to do so comfortably. Additionally, to help attendees communicate their level of comfort in interacting with one another CACJ will provide optional physical safety ribbons to all attendees who wish to communicate their physical distance preference. Early registration is encouraged as all courses have capacity limits and may fill-up quickly. 

  • Are Continuing Education Hours/Units offered for attendees during the conference?

    Yes. Attendees can view the status of approved hours by visiting the CACJ website here. Credit will be awarded based on the session selections made during registration and attendance records captured during badge scanning. Specific instructions will become available for attendees seeking credit and communicated onsite during the conference.

    Please note CACJ and ICJE does not pay fees for individual hours/credits. 

  • Are meals provided during the conference?

    Yes, the following meals are provided by CACJ during the 2022 conference:

    Sunday, September 10

    • Networking Reception 

     

    Monday, September 11

    • Breakfast 
    • Lunch 

     

    Tuesday, September 12

    • Breakfast 
    • Lunch 

     

    Wednesday, September 13 

    • Breakfast 

     

    The conference will also have refreshment breaks scheduled in the morning and afternoon.

  • Where can I find session handouts, PowerPoints, and speaker biographies?

    The 2023 annual training conference mobile app is the best option to receive updated information during the event. 

    If a speaker has provided session handouts and a PowerPoint, the documents will be available on the CACJ 2022 annual training conference mobile app.  The conference mobile app will be available to registered attendees by September 1, 2023. Attendees can log into the mobile app to view, forward, and print conference handouts. 

    Handouts and PowerPoints are expected to be posted online (CACJ website) after the event concludes.  

  • How can I change my schedule?

    There are two options to change your schedule of classes. 

    Before the Conference

    •  Attendees can log into the event management system with the username and password to update course selections until 8/31/2022.  If you experience technical difficulties and need to update your schedule, please email CACJ's Operations and Communications Coordinator, Christina Frazier. 

    During the Conference 

    •  Attendees should report to the help desk located in the Atrium to update course selections.
  • How can I cancel my registration or request a substitution?

    Please email Christina Frazier, CACJ Operations and Communications Coordinator at [email protected]

    REPLACEMENT/TRANSFER: If you are unable to attend for any reason, you may be permitted to transfer your registration to another accountability court team member within your court/agency without penalty. Submit your request (include your program coordinator and program name) via email stating your request to transfer registration to another team member. 

    CANCELLATION: Attendees must cancel registration via email. CACJ kindly requests prompt cancellation notices. Telephone requests will not be honored. 

    ** New training attendance cancellation policy effective July 1, 2023** 

  • How will I know if my registration is complete?

    After completing conference registration attendees will receive a confirmation email from this email address [email protected].

     Please check your spam or junk folder. If the confirmation email is not received, please email [email protected].

    Program Coordinators as the primary registrant should also receive a record (email confirmation) of your registration.   

  • Will attendees receive a certificate of attendance?

    Yes. All registered attendees will receive a certificate of attendance. Certificates of attendance are provided after conference evaluations are completed. The expected time frame of delivery is November 1, 2023.

  • Will there be an exhibitor hall at the conference?

    Yes. CACJ expects to have a variety of vendors during the 2023 conference. 

  • What are the attendance requirements for the 2023 conference?

    Team member attendance requirements are outlined in the CACJ Rules, Article 10 page 50.  If there are questions about team attendance eligibility and/or requirements please email Kimberly Howard. 

  • How can I request a waiver of attendance for the 2023 conference?

    Coordinators or Judges, please email [email protected] to request a waiver of attendance. 

  • Is there anything new that attendees should know about the 2023 conference?

    Yes. The 2023 event will introduce a variety of items including: 

    • Registration system with breakout sessions identified as tracks and by content level
    • Self check-in kiosks upon arrival to the conference 
    • Robust mobile app 
    • Wayfinding signage to help attendees navigate the convention center
    • Badge scanning at breakout sessions
    • Ribbon wall
    • Participant Art Exhibit and Contest
    • Hotel Shuttles 
  • What Hotel Accommodations are available for the 2023 conference?

    CACJ in collaboration with the Institute of Continuing Judicial Education and the Athens Convention Visitor's Bureau has arranged hotel blocks at several hotels in Athens.

    The hotel room blocks will open June 12, 2023. Please do not overbook. 

    Conference registration does not include a hotel room, attendees (program coordinator's or individuals) must secure (book and pay for) their own hotel lodging. 

    The housing portal link will be included in the conference registration email (sent to each coordinator) on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 11:00am. 

    Questions about hotel lodging can be directed to ICJE's Event Planner, Laura Kathryn Hogan or Event Coordinator, Casey Semple. 

    **New for 2023**

    A few hotels in Athens will be serviced by a shuttle to help ease parking at the Classic Center and attendee commute times. Registered attendees should be on the lookout after completing registration for a sign up form to determine if you will walk, commute by car, or rely on the shuttle service to attend the conference based on your hotel's location.
