The Council of Accountability Court Judges Announces the A.R.T. (Achieving Recovery in Treatment) Gallery Winners at Annual Training Conference

Athens, GA --- The Council of Accountability Court Judges (CACJ) announced the winners of the A.R.T. (Achieving Recovery in Treatment) Gallery at the annual training conference’s closing session on September 18, 2024.

The A.R.T. contest is a special galleria of accountability court participants and alumni art where more than 1,400 accountability court professionals and guests could view the art submissions. Programs were encouraged to submit artwork to display at the annual training conference. This year’s art theme was “Self-Mastery”, and 61 individuals submitted their masterpieces. Conference attendees were encouraged to visit the A.R.T. gallery and vote on their favorite works. The CACJ staff tallied the votes and announced the following winners:

First Place – “Fred” by Shelby C., Fulton County Drug Court

Second Place – “The Function of Bipolar” by Shaylynn M., Chatham County Mental Health Court

Third Place – “My Demon” by Blake K., Cherokee County DUI Court

There are 189 certified accountability court programs in Georgia, and the mission of the CACJ is to provide a unified framework that promotes and improves the quality, accessibility, and administration of accountability courts with a vision to make accountability courts work for all Georgians. Established in 2015, the CACJ fulfills this mission through certification, standards, peer review, data collection, training, treatment fidelity monitoring, and grants. This year’s annual training conference was the largest to date.
