2025 Georgia Opioid Crisis Abatement Trust (GOCAT) Grant

CACJ and CJCC are accepting applications for the 2025 Georgia Opioid Crisis Abatement Trust (GOCAT) Grant from August 3 - September 25, 2026.

Applicants are limited to existing accountability courts, and limited funds will be available to support services to accountability courts.  GOCAT funds may be used by existing accountability court programs that will improve or enhance the following areas:

• Treatment Services (includes the following)
  • Treatment services for individuals with OUD, including services to treat co-occurring mental health diagnoses or a co-occurring SUD alongside an OUD diagnosis
  • Evidence-based or evidence-informed treatment services for moderate to high-risk, moderate to high-needs justice-involved individuals with an SUD or with a severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) at risk of misusing opioids 
• Drug Testing
  • Drug tests to be used for participants with OUD or who are at risk of OUD (i.e., funds cannot be used for alco-sensors). 
• Surveillance/Community Policing
• Case Management
• Accountability Court Staff Positions
• Medication Assisted Treatment 
  • Only for individuals with OUD 
• Transitional Housing for participants with an OUD or who are at risk of an OUD.  
• For Juvenile Treatment Court programs, any expenditure that would be a permissible use of state operating grant funds is permissible under this grant.

How to Submit an Application:

• This application will be submitted through the new grants management system, IGX.

Applicants are limited to existing accountability courts.  Required attachments for the application, if applicable, include MOU/Contracts, Supporting Documents for budgeted items, and other documents, etc. 

Applications are due by 5:00 pm, September 25, 2026.
